Effect of Nurses’ Autonomy on the Quality of Patient Care Based on Kramer and Schmalenberg’s Model

Background and Aim This study aims to investigate the effect of nurses’ autonomy on quality patient care based Kramer Schmalenberg’s model Methods & Materials is a causal-comparative study. Participants were 101 nurses Imam Khomeini Hospital in Arak, Iran from intensive unit internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, gynecology, orthopedics, emergency departments. The data collection tools Moghimi Ramazan’s patent questionnaire an assessment model. analyzed SPSS software. Ethical Considerations was approved by ethics committee Islamic Azad University Arak Branch (Code: IR.IAU.ARAK.REC.1397.66). Results mean score 3.16 ±0.35, indicating desirable level. Nurses all departments had limited autonomy. In department, unsanctioned autonomy, while surgical they autonomous nursing action. regression models significant for except department. With increase one unit, among nurses, can be increased 0.253, 0.187, 0.522, 0.205, 0.466 0.129, respectively.
